Read this if you don’t want your bones to wither into dust

A lot of people, especially the elderly, struggle with osteoporosis.

In short what that means is, they have brittle and weak bones. It takes very little for them to fracture their bones. You may literally laugh at what I’m about to tell you, but I can assure you, for the person that this applies to, the following is anything but a joke.

Just a simple cough can fracture a bone.

Yes, you read that right.

Simply coughing can fracture a bone. Of course, this is one of the more extreme cases, but the point still remains valid. By actually doing something as harmless as coughing, you risk damaging yourself.

Even pitching your body forward, like when you’re bending over, can cause fractures in certain bones.

This is how bad it can get for some.

As you may already have realized, if all it takes is a simple cough or an unnatural position, to break some bones in your body, then what about if you fall? Or if you get hit by something, like for example a door?

What if one of your grandchildren, who hasn’t seen their grandparents for a long time, runs up to you in your face and hugs you everything he or she can.

I don’t have to say anything more, do I?

Imagine the horror of actually having severely damaged your grandparent, just because you wanted to give them a big hug since it had been so long since the last time you’d seen them.

Osteoporosis is a real thing, and many people suffer from it. In fact, with the current poor dieting that a lot of people undergo, cases of osteoporosis will quite likely soar in the future.

Think this doesn’t apply to you because you’re younger?

Think again.

Bad eating habits in your younger years may literally lay the grounds for weak bones later in life. Sure, you may not be in danger in your current state, and it may be easier to fix it fairly fast, compared to if you were older. But the longer you wait, the more difficult it gets.

So, what is the big secret of having strong bones?

Plain and simply, enough calcium.

And, vitamin D.

In short, vitamin D is responsible for helping your body absorb as much calcium as possible. If your body doesn’t get enough calcium, it cannot increase and maintain bone strength. Sure, working out and living a healthy lifestyle participates also. Lifting heavy weights has some impact on bone strength, but if you don’t get your nutrition right, it hardly matters at all what you’re doing.

So, if you didn’t have a reason to take a Calcium and Vitamin D supplement, now you do!

Remember, it’s never too late to get your body headed in the healthier direction.

All it takes is willpower.

Why Your Body Needs Omega 3 Fish Oils

I’m sure you’ve felt it.

I certainly have felt it. And let me tell you something, that ain’t a pleasant experience. In fact, I’ve had people give me weird looks and even withdraw from my presence because they can’t stand that foul stench.

I’m not talking about old sweat, by the way. I’m very cautious with my hygiene.

No, what I’m talking about is the disliked fish burp. You know the bad breath that you get as you produce gas in your gut after taking a fish oil supplement. And, since gas needs to leave the body one way or the other, it means that you may end up scaring away that company of yours.

However, there are ways of course, to circumvent the fish burp.

One way is to simply just take simple, raw fish oil. I’ll be the first one to admit it doesn’t taste that good, but it contains lots and lots of healthy ingredients that your body will benefit from.

If you’re consuming capsules, you could also start with taking the capsule before you eat, so that your gut gets busy digesting the meal and you won’t have to worry that much about the bad breath.

Or you could chew some gum.

Either way, whether you take fish oil or swallow a capsule, here are 6 reasons why you should consume fish liver oils [1]:

  • It lowers blood pressure
  • It reduces triglycerides
  • It slows the development of plaque in the arteries
  • It reduces the chances of abnormal heart rhythm
  • It reduces the likelihood of heart attack and stroke
  • It lessens the chance of sudden cardiac death in people with heart disease

By and large, there are no downsides to taking Omega 3 fish oils. Especially if you belong to an at-risk group. Typical examples are the elderly and overweight. Or, if you’re genetically predisposed to getting cardiovascular diseases. Perhaps some of your relatives have passed away from such an illness?

If you are overweight, a senior citizen and you have a family history of cardiovascular diseases, one of the best things you could do for your health is to start taking an omega 3 fish oil supplement.

Of course that alone won’t give you any guarantees, but you are walking down the right path towards better health.

If you also start exercising regularly and eat healthy, you may see a decrease in the risk of getting any dangerous diseases. Perhaps even your blood pressure will decrease as well?

Of course, you need to verify this with a doctor or a medical professional.

However, to my own knowledge, I don’t know about a single case where omega 3 fish oil supplements have worsened the health of someone.

If you have particularly high triglyceride levels, there are prescription omega 3 supplements available.

Remember, a better life starts with a better health.

And the only person who can change you is you.

6 signs you may have high cholesterol

A lot of people struggle with high cholesterol levels.

Especially during these recent Covid-19 times, the number of people who have stopped exercising regularly because their gym closed and rather decided to snack and watch Netflix has increased a lot. Especially among younger people from age 20-34.

Now you may be thinking that snacking a little here and snacking a little there isn’t all that dangerous.

And that’s true. If you occasionally have a chocolate, some ice cream and cookies, but you otherwise eat healthy and you exercise regularly, you shouldn’t have too much to worry about.

However, if you actually have been putting on weight lately, you have started to drink more alcohol than normally and you don’t care whether you have chocolate or chicken for dinner today, chances might be that you have increased cholesterol in your body.

According to Healthline, here are 6 symptoms that could indicate that you have too much HDL cholesterol:

  1. Angina, chest pain
  2. Nausea
  3. Extreme fatigue
  4. Shortness of breath
  5. Pain in the neck, jaw, upper abdomen, or back
  6. Numbness or coldness in your extremities

Chances are you sometimes experience back pains. In fact, you’d be an abnormal person if your back doesn’t hurt every now and then. However, if you’ve been putting on weight lately, you’ve been snacking and drinking a lot of alcohol, you’re feeling nauseatic a lot of times, and perhaps your fingers and toes and cold, chances might be you have too high HDL cholesterol levels.

And that could mean that you’re headed for way more complex and dangerous conditions like a heart attack or other cardiovascular diseases.

But, let’s say you’ve been eating healthy. You’ve cut down on the booze, the sugar and the processed carbohydrates and microwaved foods.

You also exercise regularly, but you still have high cholesterol levels.

Why?

Well, you could be one of those unlucky people who are genetically predisposed to having high cholesterol in your body.

In fact, I know about several people from my personal life who suffers from such complications and I’ve even heard about people who died from high cholesterol levels who otherwise weren’t overweight and didn’t eat a lot of bad food.

Keep in mind though, this happened way back in the old days when they didn’t have any health supplements or knew much about dieting and living a healthy life.

This means that although they didn’t have weight issues, they still could be living an unhealthy life because of bad sleeping habits, malnutrition, poor air quality and a lot of stress in life.

Of course, the reasons for why some people get high cholesterol levels and others don’t are way more complex than just listing out 6 symptoms.

However, if you do experience several of these symptoms, chances are you may want to look over your diet and take a health supplement.

3 Signs You May Have A Prostate Problem

One of the least discussed issues that men face, is complications related to their “Lil’ Herbie down there”.

And for the record, no, I’m not talking about physical intercourse or anything related to sexual activities. There are multiple ways to get Lil Herbie up and dancing, both physically and psychologically.

What I’m addressing here is a more personal and potentially dangerous issue that many men, especially those who are part of at-risk groups are facing;

Prostate problems.

That’s right.

A big part of life is to go take a leak. Sooner or later, what you drink or eat, needs to leave your body.

One of the ways that the body takes care of waste material is by producing urine.

It’s stored in your urine bladder and when there’s enough of it, you’ll feel nature calling, alerting you to take a leak.

But, when the prostate, which lies directly below the urine bladder, grows too big, things start happening.

Be especially wary of these symptoms:

  1. You’ll feel pain when you need to go pee.
  2. Even though you feel like peeing, there is hardly anything coming out. Only little droplets trickling down.
  3. You may have to use the restroom pretty much all day, preventing you from living a normal life.

A growing prostate is often the root of such problems.

As men grow, hormonal growth and certain other factors contribute to prostate growth. Meaning that just “taking a leak” is something that they’d rather avoid, because it’s so painful.

So, what can you do? If you have an enlarged prostate or you experience peeing problems, then what should you do?

Well, there are a number of different solutions.

You could take an Omega 3 supplement, or even eat fish. Salmon, sardins and trout can help shrinking the prostate. As do tomatoes.

It also helps drinking water. In fact, not drinking water to dehydrate yourself because you don’t want to pee is one of the worst things that you can do to yourself.
