Don’t be a poor dork

It really ain’t that hard. 

Don’t buy anything you can’t afford for the time being. Be smart. Put aside money that you may need in the future in case something happens. 

But here’s where a lot of people get things wrong in my opinion. 

Instead of focusing on how they could make more money, they find out ways to cut their costs. Which is a horrible way of living. Are you really going to tell me you’re going to look for everything that’s discounted and find reasons to not buy anything that’s on sale or something? 

Are you going to be the dork who runs around in malls and shows up early in the morning to get that milk or orange juice that’s discounted? 

Instead of buying food and beverages of high quality and focus on how to make more money? 

The latter is how men of success live. 

And it’s something, a mindset, a way of life that I teach.

Training on a Sunday

One of the perks if you will, with Sundays is that I get to not train. 

And it feels so good. Despite me liking to go to the gym, break a sweat and really burn some calories and feel like I made an effort, I don’t mind having an off day or two in a row. There’s just something about not having to train and to sort of ‘build yourself up’ by having a quiet off day.

However, today will be different. 

Because I have to attend some stupid and meaningless military exercise, I cannot train for most of next week. 

And it so means that I have to forgo my off day and get my ass to the gym and train. 

Again, I don’t mind it. In fact, I’m looking forward to training again because it makes me feel better. And I know that if I train as much as I can in advance of the exercise, I’ll feel much better. 

Because sometimes in life you will lose either way. 

And your best option is to (obviously) minimize the loss. 

It’s kind of like when you’re boxing and you know you’re losing the fight. You’re not going to give up just because you know it’s not going your way, right? No. You’re going to keep on coming forward and hopefully scoring a KO. 

Which is the equivalent of me getting the highest number of possible workout hours in before I run around in the woods playing war. 

Anyway, minimizing loss when there’s no other way out is a big part of becoming successful. 

And it’s something that I teach for those who aspire to become successful.

When autumn hits, I’m instantly in a better mood. 

I don’t know why. I guess I just relate a little bit more to the dark season, the fog, the rain and leaves falling from the trees. Almost like in the movie ‘Sleepy Hollow’ where virtually all the scenery is in a dark, misty and sort of off-putting atmosphere. 

Still, I like it. 

It makes me happy. 

Maybe because I know Christmas is approaching and that I’d (when I was a kid) get gifts. Or maybe because I’m simply tired of summer, the constant running around all the time, all the partying and so on. 


What autumn brings with it, is time to plan for next year. That’s right. I usually spend the rain season inside, preparing for how to totally decimate next year. And why wouldn’t I? After all, proper planning is 90% of all the work. When you have a great plan, and the more concrete and precise it is, the less headaches you’re going to encounter.

It’s really just a matter of you being willing to execute on what you’ve planned to do so far.

What fat people SHOULD be doing

On the topic of eating pasta, 

I have a lot to say. Well actually, not that much. But enough to the point where I’d actively recommend against eating that kind of food. Even though it tastes good. I know, I know. But still, even though it tastes good, it messes up your stomach. 

And most people who eat a lot of pasta are overweight. 

Yes, I know it’s not all that black and white. If you eat pasta that doesn’t necessarily guarantee you’ll become fat yourself. 

But certainly it will negatively affect your health. 

Especially if you eat a lot of pasta all the time. 

A lot of fat people do this. 

Eating pasta and unhealthy foods. Coupled with a sedentary lifestyle. 

Even though they know it’s not good for them. 

Instead they should have cleaned up their diet and exercised a little more.

The embarrassing walk back home

One of the most embarrassing days of my life was way back when I didn’t have any money. 

I lived in a place I really didn’t like. Not that I did mind the people there or the landscape and whatever, that was all nice and dandy. In fact, everybody was pleasant and nice. But it was in a very remote location, I didn’t know people there and frankly, most of them werent going in the same way that I was. 

I valued hard work and dedication. 

I wanted to become something. The majority of people there wouldn’t. I’m saying the majority because I didn’t know anybody there. 


I had very little money, and my old car had once again broken down. For the Nth time. Showing up at the car repair show was both embarrassing and humiliating.

But it served as an important reminder. 

About how if you’re buying cheap and paying little money, you get cheap in return. Which often ends up costing a lot of money. That was especially true with my old car. 

I bought it some 8 years earlier for what I considered to be a ‘good price’. 

And thought I got ‘a lot of car’ for little money. 

That part was true, but what was also true was I got a lot of problems. Towards the end of the car’s life, literally every other month I had to take it to the mechanic. There was always an issue of sorts. 

And while I got it fixed, I probably had benefited more from paying a higher price up front to get a quality car. With less issues. And less problems. 

Case in point:

Planning is everything. 

Don’t pay for the cheap stuff. It’s going to come back and haunt you for a long time. Fork over the extra $$$’s for what quality costs.

The rise of ‘poor health’ doctors

One of the weirdest moments I have is when I see medical experts who are overweight. 

You know the typical doctor, MD or physician who talks about how important it is to be in good health. How losing a few pounds could probably benefit you, lower your blood pressure and make you get rid of those back pains you have. As well as not being in the danger zone when it comes to cardiovascular diseases and so on. 

All nice and dandy, I fully agree. 

Except these doctors are in exactly the same spot themselves. What an irony, being overweight and telling other overweight people to stop being overweight. 

Like driving a black Mercedes and then telling other people they can’t drive that car. 

As if that wasn’t bad enough, I’ve discovered another potentially horrible trait. 

And that is doctors who are so skinny and frail, even if you pushed them gently, they’d fall over. They’re so thin and slim you’d think all they eat is soup all day long. And, whilst they certainly aren’t overweight, I believe a cold or a bug would be even more dangerous to them than to the common man, simply because their bodies couldn’t even deal with a virus. 

In particular, such a bug that’s on everybody’s lips today. 

Take that with a grain of potato if you will. 

Anyway, the point here is that these thin doctors are too thin. They’re on the border of being unhealthily thin. You don’t want to be like those. Don’t waste your time losing so much weight that there’s nothing left but skin and bones.

Instead, be smart. 

Do the middle thing. 

Lose the excess fat that’s dangerous and keep the rest so that you can walk around looking like a normal human being.

Dr’s Keto Stress Diet

Yes, I added “stress” mostly just to provoke. 

Nobody said the keto diet is stressful. Though I know from having done it personally that it comes with a whole lot of sacrifice. And discipline. Rigorous work ethic. And willingness to maintain focus long after the initial excitement of beginning something has passed. 

In fact, I was listening to this PHD in whatever health related thing going on about keto earlier today. 

I forget her name, I just remember her title was Dr. 

Which probably gives her more authority on the matter. I don’t even think she was a PHD within nutrition or keto, but I could be wrong. 

Anyway, this woman was going on about how her life apparently had turned upside down after she went into what she called “ketosis”. 

For those who don’t know what ketosis is, it’s the process where your body burns fat to give you energy, using something that’s called ketones in your body. I know I’m geeking out here. Worst part is actually I might have gotten this whole thing wrong because I’m not an all an expert on this matter. But if you’re interested in knowing more about ketosis, a quick Google search will probably help you. 

However, I just recall certain things this doctor said. 

About how she, when she was going out for dinner, needed to visit this “keto place”, because she couldn’t go out eating and getting her keto meals at ordinary restaurants.

And how she was walking around with some bacon in her purse to snack on before jumping on a plane. 

If anything it sounded like a more complex life. 

And the last time I checked, bacon isn’t exactly the healthiest of foods you can eat. In addition to all the fat you’re stuffing yourself with, it’s processed foods and I believe some bacon actually contains sugar, which are processed carbohydrates…not exactly keto friendly. 

Anyway, it’s not my intention to jab this doctor for her lifestyle choice. 

If it works for her, good. If it doesn’t, well then maybe she should try something else that a lot of people have used to successfully lose weight.

A fat loss wreck in slow motion

I remember one particular instance where I struggled with money. 

Now, I wasn’t so poor and broke that I couldn’t afford to live. By all means. I just barely could break even when all of my monthly expenses were paid and I was kind of stuck in this loop between eating, working and sleeping for no apparent reason other than to submit some papers for my employer. 

It kind of felt like I was losing money. 

In fact, I was losing money. I was seeing my bank account, both my checking account and my savings account slowly being drained of cash without me being able to do much to compensate for it. 

Like a slow death of sorts. 

Or a train wreck in slow motion. 

My life is gradually being sucked out of me and there is nothing that I can do. 

Well, at the very least that’s how it seemed like for me when I was going through these issues. Eventually I overcame whatever struggles I was going through and my life turned out much better. 

And this is kind of like the same process you go through when you’re losing weight. 

You’re seeing those excess pounds slowly being drained out of you. And if you’ve started the right process, it’s nothing you can do to prevent it. Like a tube of fat that’s being sucked out of you while all you’re doing is eating, sleeping and breathing. 

It’s like magic, right? 

Sure, it’s uncomfortable going through this change. At least temporary. 

But it’s what your body needs. And this is how you’re growing.

A provoking thought about the fat

Here’s a thought that’s very provoking. 

Yet I cannot seem to get it out of my head. It’s jus lying there dormant, waiting for me to speak it into exsistence. And once you’ve seen it, you cannot unsee it. For real. 

Here goes:

‘Why are so many poor people fat?’

Notice I’m not saying that all poor people are fat. There are people who legitimately don’t have a lot of money so that they cannot buy whatever things they want. That must really suck. In fact, I absolutely know how that feels because I used to be one of them not too long ago. During one of the worst periods in my life, I actually had to choose between spending money on gas for my car or buy food instead. No, I’m not joking. That is really horrible. 

Anyway, let’s move on. 

Daily I see these lower income families go around and instructing their kids to ‘save money’ and to ‘buy something cheap’

The most extreme case was when I heard about some woman who wanted to save money for her daughter’s church confirmation. Her daughter was 5 years old. The church confirmation wouldn’t take place before her daughter was 15 years old. So 10 years and going. The outfit worn was a traditional folk costume that was expensive to buy. And this mother wanted to buy the materials for the outfit right now and preserve it for 10 years instead of saving money in an index fund or something. 

It’s so crazy and insane I have no words. 

Anyway, this quickly spiralled into a financial advice email. 

Which it is not. 

Bottom line is, I accuse a lot of fat and broke people for being fat and broke because they spend too much money on themselves, eating. 

While they should have been eating less and working more. 

Both to save money and calories.

The climate activist hoax

No, I’m not suggesting there are no climate changes. 

You’d have to be a fool not to see that. What I am suggesting though, is that many of these climate activists who openly oppose the way most people are living, are hypocrites and therefore participate in a hoax designed to scare you into doing as they want to. 

I see that this is quickly turning into a political rant, which is not the case. 

Therefore I’ll jump right to the point. 

Most of these climate activists are vegans and preach the virtues of preserving the environment without using too many resources. Yet they happily eat (and encourage eating) organically grown vegetables wrapped in plastic that have been shipped from the other side of the globe, thinking they’re doing something to protect and help the environment. 

The irony writes itself on the wall. 

And, if you want to lose weight and you’re done with eating pizza and all of that nasty stuff, do you really think you’re better off by eating a smaller than regular avocado? 

I don’t think so. 

I think you’re putting yourself up for misery and loss. 

Whereas if you want to put yourself up for victory and gain, and you truly want to lose weight, why don’t you use something that so many other people have used? Something that actually works?
