One thing that has been on my mind lately is how emotions affect pretty much everything, yet still nothing.
Here’s what I mean: You cannot control time. Literally. It just passes. No matter what you do. You wake up and you feel sad? Cool, you’ll still have to do all the things you were supposed to do in the first place. You wake up and feel happy? Cool, you’ll still have all your ordinary things to take care about. You wake up and you feel scared? Well, there’s still your daily to-do list or whatever you want to call it that you’ve got to take care of.
This is usually the point where most people fail to take any action or to use their time productively.
They are waiting for some miracle to fall from the sky and make them happy or motivated or some such.
If you are one of these ‘motivation hungry’ people or whatever you’d like to call it, then I don’t know what to say.
Except take a look at your watch or a clock if you have one.
Look how time passes while you are reflecting on your inner thoughts.
Look at how you are doing nothing whilst your competition or your peers are out there killing in their fields. You don’t think they too have these negative thoughts entering their brains one day or another?
You don’t think they feel like not doing any work today?
As I’m writing this email, I’m dressed in training clothes. I’ll be heading to the gym pretty soon. I like to take care of my exercising in the morning, preferably while it still is dark outside, although I know that won’t be possible this day due to logistical reasons. But that’s beside the point. The point is, I’m going to do something that I’m really not ‘motivated’ to do, but that I know will aid me in the long run.
Same thing goes for marketing myself on Instagram.
For helping out other people.
For doing pretty much any activity at all.
Y’know, I could keep on writing about this thing forever, but I’ll end it right here until I get too carried away in my thoughts.
I think you understand already what I mean.
Do not allow time to control you. Instead you do your best to control the time which passes. Because Time will Pass. And you need to execute accordingly with actions. This is just one way to build your Energy Levels up.
Or, as I like to call it, conducting proper Time and Energy Protection [TEP].
Also, for the interested, I have a FREE ebook which clocks in at a fat 28 pages which is stacked with tips, tricks and ways to do TEP. Especially by choosin whom to surround yourself with.
A lot of people suggest you should ‘de-clutter your workspace’ and ‘set reminders on your phone’ and ‘block out all distractions’ as well as a host of other generic advice.
That’s all fine and dandy, but I go deeeper.
I get more real.
I find the *real* problem to your Time and Energy wasting habits.
