The Importance of saying ‘no’

IMPORTANT: For explanation of EE’s and EV’s, see the bottom of this article.

Today I want to being your attention to ‘no.’

And, whilst many are preaching about how You should say ‘yes’ more, I am preaching the inverse. It is literally the one word that has given me the most. Yes, you read that right! Saying ‘no’ has GIVEN me more than it has taken from me. Not only time and money, but also ENERGY.

And this is where the real value lies.

But, I *have* to Give credit where credit is due.

And that is because I did not ‘invent’ this way of thinking. It was being presented to me by Jim Camp via Ben Settle and also, at a later stage, through Chris Voss.

In terms of ‘real’ value, turning people down is magic like clockwork. Especially the Energy Vampires that pry on your every action and look for reasons to bring you down. You know when you’ve kind of like made up your plans for the day and there’s always that annoying loser dork whom you have to navigate around, either through attending the same sort of work meeting, or you need to go to an appointment where you know he’ll be present, and so on? Yeah, I am talking about those instances. Those instances Which you cannot escape.

Except by saying ‘no.’

Or actually, that is only half the truth. Because saying ‘no’ and nothing else will leave you inside the EV’s fangs, as all you’ve done is shoot down their suggestion or comment.

Might as Well just invite them over to yours for a party.

Lord knows that has virtually the same effect.

Anyway, if you’re interested in learning more about how to navigate the soulless, annoying and downright evil creatures who aren’t content with hearing just ‘no’, best take advantage of the in-depth education I offer to subscribers of my email list.

EE: Energy Enabler. A positive, happy and uplifting person that makes you feel good and who wants you to succeed. They always cheer for you and they want to Believe in you. Makes you want to want to go around and affect other people in the same way. Often good looking and successful.

EV: Energy Vampire. Someone who brings you down mentally and psychologically. Often they attack you passive aggressively or they use your attention to make themselves feel good. Hardly or never compliments you. You feel like all life has been sucked out of you when you interact with them.
