The ‘mind hack’ to lose fat?

Today I’m a little nasty and rude. But I don’t care. If you read this and you feel ‘attacked’ it means I’ve done my job.

*******************************************************************************************

I’ve seen a lot of complainypants articles lately.

By that I simply mean articles and stories in news outlets about people who complain because it feels so much better to do that than to actually do some work. Typically it’s someone who has a genuine struggle to overcome. But instead of working on their problems, they’d rather prefer to rant and seek sympathy.

One of these examples was a fat woman who couldn’t conceive.

I don’t exactly recall the reason why she couldn’t conceive, but I believe it had something to do with a condition she had.

She needed one of these test tubes to ‘boost’ her pregnancy. I don’t even know how that works, I just know that was what she struggled with.

However, according to medical and probably health reasons as well, fat people shouldn’t be doing this.

I don’t know why that is, I just know what all of the test tube clinics told the woman.

In probably much nicer words than what I’m using here, they told her they couldn’t help her because she was overweight. She needed to lose 30-40 lbs or something like that. Or it could be harmful to the baby.

In other words, they showed her some tough love.

Her response?

Instead of slimming down and working hard on shedding those pounds so that she could meet the requirements from the clinics, she went on a rant in a news outlet.

Citing how she felt ‘discriminated’ how ever since from her childhood she’d been told there was something ‘wrong’ with her body and so on.

Which I actually agree with – if you’ve overweight there is something wrong with your body. It may not be your fault and maybe things are out of control, but that still doesn’t make it healthier.

Anyway, I didn’t even read the whole article because it was so stupid.

All the woman did was complaining.

Instead of realizing that the medical and health reasons perhaps were justified and that the clinics had her and the baby’s best interests in their thoughts?

More, this is a perfect example of what I call ‘complainypants.’ I wish I remember where I read it so I could give credit where credit is due, but I don’t. All I know is that I didn’t invent the word. But whoever did it, thank you.

Complainypants are people who have a problem, an issue or a challenge that they need to overcome.

But instead of actually working on said issue, problem or challenge they complain.

Loud and for long.

Why?

Because it’s so much easier to complain. It feels so much better claiming the moral high ground as being a victim instead of realizing that only they alone can fix their issues.

I’ve never understood such people, really. Don’t they see how they’re just delaying the inevitable?

Anyway, what the woman and any other complainypants should be doing is motivating themselves to start working.

Doesn’t have to be a big thing, just start making these small changes to their lives and see where that takes them.

In the woman’s case it could have been to stop consuming candy and soft drinks every single day. I don’t know if that’s what she did, I just assume she did because of her looks.

In order to start such a change, what about giving your brain the little extra push it needs so that it’s on board with the rest of your body?

And that’s it. In all honesty, people who do complain but don’t do anything about the problem do not have my sympathy at all. And why would they?

I just prefer telling’em the facts straight up.
